Jobs for school leavers are not available and they are not supported by the Government. 4 The Future aims to change this and provide school leavers with support and job opportunities. 

The reason this is an issue is because if school leavers are unemployed, they will not be earning and spending money and therefore inflation will rise. Job opportunities for school leavers are highly limited.  79% of people who have a qualification outside of school are completely unemployed and 58% of people who have no qualification are unemployed. This will cause inflation and will also cause the cost of living to rise as well, which is what is already happening in today’s society. 

Our policy will combat this issue by providing support and increasing job availability. 

Our solution to this major issue is to put support systems in place for school leavers. For example, we will introduce a platform, similar to Jobseeker, that will help school leavers with finding jobs. It will be targeted at school leavers and finding work for them, prioritizing their futures. These systems will be available across all states and territories. 

Additionally, we will create more jobs to be suited for them such as refugee case managers, military availabilities, police jobs going into Tafe and elderly support. Tafe schools will be made significantly cheaper and more affordable for school leavers. This will support them and help them to secure a job and a future. 

Availability will increase as we plan for a multimillion-dollar project to increase Tafe schools in rural and country areas. Of the 59 TAFE programs only 5 are located in WA, which is a more rural area. This illustrates the inaccessibility of TAFE in rural areas. We plan to change this flaw in the TAFE system by building more Tafe schools in rural areas, such as Darwin as there is only one school there. 

Our platform will be maintained at a high standard, as supporting young people is our priority. It will be maintained by the top IT workers. This platform, which will support school leavers, will also be available for people who have graduated, in case they are struggling to find a certain job. 

Without Tafe students our economy and country as we know it will crumble. With 30% of students leaving school, our streets will be flooded with unemployed people, and so inflation and the cost of living will drastically rise. 4 the Future’s plans to solve this problem will turn Australia back in the right direction and will keep inflation and the cost of living down.
